4) Registration and deposit must be postmarked no later than April 21,2007.

Class size is limited, availability is based on first come first served basis. In the event that the class you’ve selected is full, you will be notified and your check/money order will be returned to you. Fifty percent non-refundable deposits will be required for pre-show registration.

Beginning Stringing

Description: Are you a first time beader? Looking to refine your skills? Then this is the class for you. This project will include a necklace with clasp, a bracelet on stretch cord, as well as a pair of earrings. Participants will learn proper assembly and finishing techniques. Instructor will also give an overview regarding appropriate stringing materials, tool basics as well as helpful hints.

Cha-Cha Bracelet

Description: Fun and festive bracelet with up to 21 dangling beads. Each student will make a bracelet and earrings in bronze or brass bracelet with beads. Basic jewelry making skills or wire work skills are needed for this 3 hour class. Instructor will have materials available, but student may bring their own beads as long as the holes are at minimum diameter to fit a 20-22 gauge wire. Nellie Shannon is an engineer by day and a crafter by night.

Nova earrings

Description: Kits come in two color choices. Color selection is based on first come first served. No reserved kits please. Hand out is included in kit.

Should attendees choose to assemble their own kit; the following will be needed to complete this project. , (the handouts will cost $20).

Grandma's Dish on My Arm! Photo Transfer on Polymer Clay

Description: Recall Grandma's (or your) favorite china with a unique bracelet fashioned from tiles using photo transfers. At least two color options will be provided and an in depth handout for you to replicate the process on your own. You will be able to take some of the transfer print to take home to create other jewelry items or decorate an object such as a tin or photo frame. This transfer is extremely easy and very fast with great color. You will take home finished tiles to create your own bracelet.

Creating a Focal Pendant Using PMC

Description: Precious Metal Clay - the clay made of fine particles of .999FSilver that when fired becomes a pure silver piece. This class will give you a taste of the basics while creating a beautiful pendant that can be worn alone or as a focal point in your beading creation. Students have several designs to choose from and tools are available to use during class. An overview of firing basics will be taught during the firing of your pieces in the kiln. Handout covering the Basics of PMC will be given to students. Leather cord available for $3 or bring your own stringing supplies.

Blocks & Wire Bracelet

Description: Easy project of connecting pieces. Learn peyote stitch & some basic wire working while creating a unique bracelet. Embellishment is freeform. Students need to bring: 5 grams delicas, 14,16 or 18 gauge wire, small beads (spacers, drops, crystals, leaves or dagger beads), wire working tools (hammer, anvil, round nose & chain nose pliers, cutters), needle thread or fireline.

Quilted Beads

Description: Each student will make a complex cane using the Makin's Extruder from 3 different colors of clay. The three clay colors should be a light, medium and dark color as shown in the photos for the cane to work. If there is time, the 9 Patch cane will also be constructed if you have enough clay and there is time. You will receive an in depth handout showing various ways to assemble your extruded colors to make different designs.

Peyote Pendant

Description: This project is ideal for beginners, as well as those interested in a refresher course to expand their seed beading skills. Participants will learn basic peyote, decreasing to create points and how to make dangles. Size #8 seed beads and crystal will be used to create a pendant with bail. This pendant can be incorporated into a beaded necklace or worn on a chain or cord.

Attendees may find it beneficial to bring their readers or magnification lenses.

Cross Weave Bracelet with a Twist

Supplies: Attendees will need the following items to complete their projects.

Additional Information:

Students may pre-wrap their pearls. The loop needs to be large enough to fit over size 11* seed beads. Wire a few extra, just in case. They can be used for earrings later.

The sample bracelet is 7.25” total length; it uses 12, 5mm rice-shaped pearls, and takes 50 crystals. The clasp portion is .75”.

Beginner’s okay, knowledge of wire wrapping a plus. Please make checks payable to instructor.

Findings Your Way

Description: Make your own findings with this class. Tired of paying for findings and not getting one that meets your needs. With this intermediate class, you learn how to make and design your own findings. No extra equipment or jigs needed. Each student will make bronze or brass toggles, clasp hooks, head pins, and ear wires. Basic jewelry making skills are needed for this 2 hour class. Lampwork Demonstration

Description: Adriana Sauceda has been featured in “The Art & Soul of Glass Beads”, the SA Life section of the Express-News as part of the San Antonio Craft Mafia, and “UTSA Paisano”. This brief lampworking demonstration will introduce attendees to the art of melting glass cane with a torch to create miniature works of art.
